An Afrosurrealist Story
ECHOES is an Afrosurrealist story exploring grief, perseverance, and triumph through the emotional and historical weight of the Biafran War (Also known as the Nigerian civil war), conveyed through four distinct perspectives.
The project uses this surrealist lens to explore identity, empathy, and curiosity by drawing inspiration from West African spiritual themes, Igbo mythology, anime, graphic novels, and video games. ECHOES presents a cohesive and visually arresting collection of physical and digital art.
My aim is to celebrate African and Igbo heritage, honouring the past, igniting a modern cultural renaissance, and forging an empathetic future where our culture and identity are authentically preserved.
